Main Point in Brief:

The total number of the actual population of the Dnipropetrovs'k region according to the data of the All-Ukrainian Population Сensus '2001 accounted for 3567.6 thousand persons.

The number of the urban population according to the data of the All-Ukrainian Population Сensus '2001 accounted for 2960.3 thousand persons or 83% and that of rural population - the 607.3 thousand persons or 17%.

According to the data of the All-Ukrainian Population Сensus, the number of men totaled 1643.3 thousand people or 46% that of women - 1924.3 thousand people or 54%.

In a region are three towns with the number of the population over 50 thousand people.

The total number of the permanent population of the Dnipropetrovs'k region accounted for 3,561.2 thousand people.

The peculiarity of the national structureof the population of the Dnipropetrovs'k region is its multinational composition. According to the data of the All-Ukrainian Population Сensus, the representatives of more than 130 nationalities and ethnic groups live on the territory of the Dnipropetrovs'k region. In national composition of population of region the number of Ukrainians 1301.2 thousand people or 93.1% of total population.
