The chapter shows the results of the All-Ukrainian Population Census ’2001, i.e. the number, distribution and structure of Ukrainian population by sex, age, marital status, educational standard, nationality and native language with reference to districts, cities,towns (according to the administrative and territorial division as of Census date).
   The comparison of the Population Census ’2001 results with that of the previous census’ 1989 provides the basis for understanding and analysis of the socio-economic changes in the society.
