Legislative and Normative Acts on Preparation to and Conducting the first All-Ukrainian Population Census

   Since 1995 a number of legislative acts concerning preparation to and conducting the first All-Ukrainian Population Census have been adopted. To keep a decade interval between the censuses, the first All-Ukrainian Population Census was planned to take place in January 1999, however it was postponed until 2001 because of objective reasons.

   Legislative and normative documents regulating the timing, organizational procedure, logistics and financial condition of the All-Ukrainian Population Census were the following:


  • THE LAW OF UKRAINE “On the All-Ukrainian Population Census”.

  • THE LAW OF UKRAINE “ On Amendments to the Code of Ukraine on Administrative infringements”.

  • The resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine as of 28th of September 1998 № 1536 “On Conducting the All-Ukrainian Population Census in 2001”.

  • The resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine as of 18th of June 1999 № 1066 “On Organization and Logistics to Conduct the All-Ukrainian Population Census in 2001”."

  • The Decree of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine as of 21th of February №51,“On Organization of the All-Ukrainian Population Census”."

  • The Resolutions of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine as of 11th of July 2001 № 2646-III “On the temporary suspension of the consideration of issues connected with changes in administrative-territorial system of Ukraine”."
