About number and composition population of ZAPORIZHZHIA REGION
by data All-Ukrainian census of the population 2001
The number of the urban population, according to the data of the All-Ukrainian census of the population, accounted for 1,458.2 thousand persons or 76%,and that of the rural population - 471 thousand people or 24%. Since 1989 urban population has decreased by 118 thousand people and rural by – about 35 thousand people, but they still are in the same ratio.
