About number and composition population of VOLYN REGION
by All-Ukrainian Population Census data
The number of the urban population, according to the data of the All-Ukrainian population census, accounted for 533.2 thousand persons or 50.3%, and that of the rural population - 527.5 thousand persons or 49.7%. Since 1989 urban population has increased by 15 thousand people and rural decline by 15.5 thousand people.

The part of urban population has increased in all districts of region, excluding Volodymyr-Volyns'kyi and Shats'k districts.In Horokhiv district part of urban population remained without the changes. Considerably higher, than other regions, this index for the Kivertsi, Rozhyshche, Liuboml', Turiis'k and Shats'k districts.
