About number and composition population of TERNOPIL' REGION
by All-Ukrainian Population Census' 2001

    The number of the urban population, according to the All-Ukrainian population census data, accounted for 485.6 thousand persons or 42.5%,and that of the rural population - 656.8 thousand people or 57.5%. Since 1989 urban population has increased by 9 thousand people and rural decreased by – 35.4 thousand people.

   The proportion of the urban and rural population by districts of region is characterized by the following data:
