About the number and structure of the population of POLTAVA REGION
according to the results of the All-Ukrainian population census '2001
The number of the urban population according to the All-Ukrainian Population Census ’2001 data, accounted for 956.8 thousand persons or 58.7 %, and that of rural population – 673.3 thousand persons or 41.3%. Compared with 1989 urban population decreased by 34 thousand persons, rural population – by 88.9 thousand persons.
