About number and composition population of KIROVOHRAD REGION
by data All-Ukrainian census of the population 2001
The number of the urban population, according to the All-Ukrainian population census data, accounted for 682 thousand persons or 60.2%,and that of the rural population - 451.1 thousand people or 39.8%. Since 1989 urban population has decreased by 60.4 thousand people and rural by – 45.9 thousand people, but they still are in the same ratio.

Part of urban population increase in 10 districts of region, decrease – in 4, in other there was unchanging. Especially high level of this index in the Haivoron and Dolynska
districts (53%).
