About number and composition population of CHERNIHIV REGION
by data All-Ukrainian census of the population 2001
The number of the urban population according to the All-Ukrainian census data, accounted for 727.2 thousand persons or (58.4 %), and that of rural population – 518.1 thousand persons or (41.6 %). Compared with 1989 urban population decreased by 28.9 thousand persons, rural population – on 141.7 thousand persons.
