About number and composition population of CHERKASY REGION
by data All-Ukrainian census of the population 2001
The number of the urban population according of the All-Ukrainian census data, accounted for 754 thousand persons, or 53.7% and that of rural population - the 649 thousand persons or 46.3%.
Compared with 1989, urban population decreased on 55.4 thousand persons, rural population – on 73.2 thousand persons, however, but they still are in the same ratio.
