According to the data of the All-Ukrainian Population Census ‘2001, the number of men totalled 173,500 people, or 46%, that of women - 206,000 people, or 53%.
In 1989 this ratio:men - 47% and women - 53%. In 1989 there were 1117 women per 1000 men, than in 2001 – 1188.
