About number and composition population of ZHYTOMYR REGION
by All-Ukrainian Population Census' 2001

   During the All-Ukrainian census of the population besides actual there have been accounted permanent population, which is used in calculations of indices, characterizing socio-economic structure of the population.

   The permanent population of region, at the date of 5 December 2001 accounted for 1389.3 thousand people, including men – 644.4 thousand people, or 46.4%, that of women – 744.9 thousand people, or 53.6%; urban population – 772.7 thousand people, or 55.6%, that of rural population – 616.6 thousand people, or 44.4%.
