About number and composition population of VOLYN REGION

During the All-Ukrainian population census besides actual there have been accounted permanent population, which is used in calculations of indices, characterizing socio-economic structure of the population. Permanent population of region, at the date of December 5, 2001 accounted for 1,057.2 thousand people, including men – 497.6 thousand people, or 47.1%, that of women – 559.6 thousand people, or 52.9%, urban population – 526.7 thousand people, or 49.8%, that of rural population – 530.5 thousand people, or 50.2%.
Among permanent population citizens of Ukraine totaled 1,055.5 thousand people, citizens of other countries – 1.7 thousand people(a large majority citizens of CIS ). In the towns with regional status constantly lived 40% citizens of other countries.
