About number and composition population of VINNYTSIA REGION
by All-Ukrainian Population Census 2001 data

   During the All-Ukrainian census of the population besides actual there have been accounted permanent population, which is used in calculations of indices, characterizing socio-economic structure of the population. Permanent population of region, as of 5 December 2001 accounted for 1,763.9 thousand people, including men - 804.7 thousand people, or 45.6%, that of women - 959.2 thousand people, or 54.4%, urban population – 809.1 thousand people, or 45.9%, that of rural population – 954.8 thousand people, or 51.1%.
   Among permanent population citizens of Ukraine totalled 1,757.1 thousand people, citizens of other countries – 4.2 thousand people, including citizens of CIS (Commonwealth Independent States) – 3.9 thousand people. There were about 2.6 thousand persons without citizenship in region and those who haven’t specify their citizenship – 22 personsd. Mostly, citizens of other countries, permanently residing in region, lived in Yampil (0.6%), Murovani Kurylivtsi, Pischanka (0.4%), Bershad, Haisyn, Mohyliv-Podilskyi, Nemyriv (0.3%) districts and Vinnytsia town (0.3%). The less part of citizens of other countries permanently living in Kalynivka district, Kryzhopil district, Lypovets district, Lityn district, Pohrebysche district, Khmilnyk district, Sharhorod district (0.1%).
