About number and composition population of ODESA REGION

During the All-Ukrainian census population besides actual there have been accounted permanent population, which is used in calculations of indices, characterizing socio-economic structure of the population. Permanent population of Odesa region, at the date of 5 December 2001 accounted for 2,456 thousand people, including men - 1,149 thousand people, or 46.8%, that of women - 1,307 thousand people, or 53.2%, urban population – 1,605 thousand people, or 65.3%, that of rural population – 851 thousand people, or 34.7%
Among permanent population citizens of Ukraine totalled 2,427 thousand people, citizens of other countries – 16.8 thousand people, including citizens of CIS – 14.5 thousand people. There were about 11.5 thousand persons without citizenship in Ukraine and those who haven’t specify their citizenship – 24 people.
