During the All-Ukrainian population census besides actual there have been accounted permanent population, which is used in calculations of indices, characterizing socio-economic structure of the population. Permanent population of L'viv region, at the date of 5 December 2001 accounted for 2,606 thousand people, including men - 1,234.9 thousand people, or 47.4%, that of women - 1,371.1 thousand people, or 52.6%.Urban population – 1,534 thousand people, or 58.9%, that of rural population – 1,072 thousand people, or 41.1%.
   Among permanent population citizens of Ukraine totalled 2,603 thousand people, citizens of other countries – 2 thousand people, including citizens of CIS – 1.6 thousand people. There were about 604 persons without citizenship and those who haven’t specify their citizenship – 238 people.
