About number and composition population of KHERSON REGION

During the All-Ukrainian census of the population besides actual there have been accounted permanent population, which is used in calculations of indices, characterizing socio-economic structure of the population. Permanent population of Kherson region , at the date of 5 December 2001 accounted for 1million 172.7 thousand people, including men - 702.3 thousand people, or 46.6%, that of women - 626.1 thousand people, or 53.4%, urban population – 702.3 thousand people, or 59.9%, that of rural population – 470.4 thousand people, or 40.1%.

    Among permanent population citizens of Ukraine totalled 1 million 161.6 thousand people, citizens of other countries – 5.6 thousand people, including citizens of CIS – 5.4 thousand people. There were about 4 thousand persons without citizenship and those who haven’t specify their citizenship – 1.5 thousand people.
