About number and composition population of KHARKIV REGION

    During the All-Ukrainian census of the population besides actual there have been accounted permanent population, which is used in calculations of indices, characterizing socio-economic structure of the population. Permanent population of Kharkiv region , at the date of 5 December 2001 accounted for 2,895,800 people, including men - 1,328,900 people, or 45.9%, that of women - 1,566,900 people, or 54.1%, urban population – 2,266,400 people, or 78.3%, that of rural population – 629,400 people, or 21.7%.

    Among permanent population citizens of Ukraine totalled 2,877,600 people, citizens of other countries – 13.6 thousand people, including citizens of CIS – 8.6 thousand people. There were about 2.9 thousand persons without citizenship in region and those who haven’t specify their citizenship – 1.7 thousand people.
