   The part of those whose mother tongue is Ukrainian totals 95.2% of the population of Khmel'nyts'kyi region, this is by 3.9 percentage points more than in 1989. The percentage of those whose mother tongue is Russian totals 4.1% of the population. Comparatively with the data of previous census this index has increase by 3.9 percentage points.
