About number and composition population of ZAPORIZHZHIA REGION

The total number of the actual population of the Zaporizhia region, according to the data of the All-Ukrainian census of the population ‘2001, accounted for 1929.2 thousand persons.
Region is characterized by high density of population, according to the data of the All-Ukrainian census of the population it accounted for 71 persons per sq. km. The least density of population is in Pryazovs'ke and Berdians'k districts – respectively 17 and 20 persons per sq. km. The industrial towns of region are the most densely populated : Enerhodar -14050 persons per sq. km, Melitopol' – 4018 persons per sq. km, and Zaporizhzhia – 3408 persons per sq. km.
