About number and composition population of MYKOLAIV REGION
by data All-Ukrainian census of the population 2001

    The total number of the actual populationof the Mykolayiv region, according to the data of the All-Ukrainian census of the population ‘2001, accounted for 265 thousand persons.
    According to the 2001 census population density was 51 persons per square kilometre, 54 persons per square kilometre, in 1989.
   The higest density was in cities with regional ststus:Pervomais'ke city (2797 persons per square kilometre), Mykolaiv city (1979 persons per square kilometre), and Kryve Ozero district and Snihurivka district has density population 35 persons per square kilometre, Zhovtneviy districts 37 persons per square kilometre.
The lowest density population was in Berezanka district, Bereznehuvate district, Yelanets' district, Kazanka district - 18 persons per square kilometre.

   Changes in actual population by disrticts of region, have taken place since 1989, are shown in the table:
