The total number of the actual population of the Kyiv region, according to the All-Ukrainian population census‘2001 data, accounted for 1,827.9 thousand persons.
The region is characterized by low concentration of the population.According to the All-Ukrainian census data it accounted for 65 persons per sq.km.
