The number of people with higher and complete secondary education of Zhytomyr region accounted for 790.2 thousand people, that exceeds by 17.1% the corresponding characteristic population census ‘1989.
The rise of the educational standard of the population is typical of both urban and rural population. The number of persons with complete higher education per 1000 persons of the population in specified age since 1989 has increased by 28.1% in town and by 63% in the village. The same tendency is typical of persons with complete secondary education, their number has increased by 20.8% in towns and by 35.8% in the villages.
