Foregoing data say about gradual decrease in gender disproportion in the population of region. In 1989 there were 1210 women per 1000 men, in 2001 – 1189. These changes are explained by changes in gender structure of rural population, where since 1989 gender ratio has changed from 1296 women per 1000 men to 1196 women per 1000 men. The reverse situation is in towns, where this index has increased from 1160 women per 1000 men in 1989 to 1185 women per 1000 men in 2001.
