   The part of those whose mother tongue is Ukrainian totals 95.3% of the population of L'viv region(in Ukraine -67.5%), this is by 5.2 percentage points more than in 1989. The percentage of those whose mother tongue is Russian totals 3.8% of the population(in Ukraine - 29.6%). Comparatively with the data of previous census this index has decreased by 5 percentage points. The part of other languages, specified like mother tongue, during the period that have passed since previous census has decreased by 0.2 percentage points and accounts for 0.9%.
